The ideal candidate will have the following experience in order to fill this important role -
A strong understanding of the tools and methodology's to design and architect both client server and Web applications and middlewares.
Must have a broad technology background, with an understanding of both Internet and non-Internet application technologies and related infrastructure.
Practical knowledge of RDBMS, network and server concepts.
8 - 10 years strong experience with object-oriented analysis, design & application architecture.
A minimum of 5 years experience leading design and development of industry standard distributed object web applications using UML and RUP.
5 years of demonstrated competency using the following technologies/languages in n-tier distributed object-oriented Web application design
:
J2EE, WebSphere, Java, JCA, JDBC
Eclipse, IBATIS, Hibernate, Spring Framework. SOAP, JAXB, XML, ORM, Data Modelling and AJAX
Also:
Mutual Fund, Transfer agent
3 / 4 years of strong development experience with BEA WebLogic or IBM Websphere Application Server or other application servers.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area.
Technical certifications are a plus
Additional Preferred Skills:
Hands-on experience with application architecture. Create architecture guideline documents as needed. Hands-on development of infrastructure related items, or frameworks, as well as proof of concepts. Work with development to mentor design, development, and performance considerations. The candidate most be able to debug and research the oddest of issues is critical. The ability to navigate the enterprise and facilitate the evolution of technology standards is critical. Lead in the development of principles, standards, guidelines, on the proper use and deployment of technology. Responsible for technical architecture specification, design, development, and code walk through. Responsible for development of test environments to support software, and system testing. Performance testing and optimization of different deployment configurations. Perform this role on multiple projects as needed. Comprehensive understanding of application design and implementation from a practical perspective rather then theoretical.

As a Senior lead Software Engineer for PFPC capable of mentoring 3-5 people, the position is responsible for the following:
Perform software development duties as part of a team, including
Requirements Definition and Analysis
Application Design
Code Development
Unit and Integration Testing of Code
Support System and Client Acceptance Test Efforts
Work with other teams to understand technical requirements and identify and resolve issues and risks.
Provide technical guidance to junior developers.
Provide second tier on call support in the event there are production outages.
