Senior UI Web Developer
Description:
Our highly reputable client is seeking a Senior Web/UI Developer to work on new and exciting applications for their award-winning software products. This is a high-visibility position and requires highly creative minds with keen interest in Web 2.0 features such as highly interactive user interfaces and emerging rich-client applications with JavaScript and AJAX. The job is a contract to hire and is based in the Washington DC Metro area.
Job duties:
Develops and implements UI designs for the company's software product by building interfaces using HTML, CSS, JSP, and XML
Works closely and effectively with other members of the UI and Development teams to produce interfaces that satisfy the company's business requirements
Unit tests work and adheres to agreed-upon production requirements
Adheres to version control processes and methodologies
Contributes to and follows the processes and procedures that govern UI's day-to-day activities and long-term goals
Candidate qualifications:
Expert skills in hand-coding and debugging HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Understanding of XML and JSP
Strong understanding of implementation issues related to web accessibility requirements such as the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative and the Section 508 rules
Ability to strike a balance between quality of work and turn around time
Ability and desire to work as a part of a team with web developers and senior software engineers
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Minimum 3 years Web development experience
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Computer Science or similar discipline) from a four-year college or equivalent
